This Eco-Friendly Makeup Remover Only Needs Water

Raise your hand if you’re still using makeup wipes to remove your makeup. Don’t be shy. We’ve all been there, trust me, I didn’t stop using wipes until last year. They’re convenient, disposable and you don’t need a cleanser or water. They definitely come in handy on those late nights when you’re too tired to remove your makeup.

However, I never realized how bad for the environment they are. A lot of makeup wipes end up in landfills, clog up the sewer system and aren’t environmentally friendly. I’ve tried cleansing balms, oils, cleansing brushes and other products and tools to remove my makeup. Some of them irritated my skin and others just didn’t remove my makeup as well. Full disclosure, my makeup is completely waterproof, so it takes a little bit of extra work to remove. I wear Maybelline’s SuperStay 24HR Liquid Foundation that’s waterproof, smudge-proof (great for wearing with your mask) and doesn’t transfer. My eyeliner is Stila Liquid Liner (the best) and it’s also waterproof. See photo on the left of my sometimes everyday makeup look.

The Original Makeup Eraser

The Original Makeup Eraser

Made up of tiny hair-like fibers that easily removes dirt, makeup and oil. It’s also double-sided so you can cleanse and exfoliate your skin. Pro Tip: Make sure to wash it before you use it and soak in warm water to remove your makeup.

Late last year, Makeup Eraser sent me a variety of their best sellers including the Original Pink Makeup Eraser, their 7-Day Travel Set, The Puff and The Sponge. One night after my family’s Christmas Eve dinner, I tried the makeup eraser cloth from the 7-Day Travel Set and let me tell you, I was impressed! All I had to do was add water to the cloth and it immediately removed my makeup. What’s great about The Original Makeup Eraser is that it’s a polyester cloth made up of hair-like fibers that acts like a vacuum to remove all the makeup and oil from your pores. It easily removed my waterproof foundation and eyeliner. My matte waterproof lipstick was a a little hard to remove but I rinsed the cloth under water and tried again and it came off.

What’s so great about The Makeup Eraser is that one cloth equals to 3600 makeup wipes. There’s no chemicals, it’s 100% vegan and reusable. I tossed it in the washing machine after using it and it came out looking brand new. These cloths will last up to 3-5 years, a total game-changer! Watch my video below to see how easily I removed my makeup using the Makeup Eraser. Let me know in the comments if you’re going to ditch makeup wipes for good and go for this sustainable option instead!
